Troubleshooting Salem issues

Application Insights
The main tool for troubleshooting Salem is "Application Insights". This is a standard Azure type resource that contains logging from the Salem front end and back end applications. This data available in applications insights includes process logging, warnings and errors.
Login Issues
Some login issues in the Salem Bot can be remedied by login out, the singing back into Salem. To logout in Salem chat, send Salem the message "logout". Follow this with a new message to Salem and you should see a new sign in dialog prompt.
Salem leverages OAuth based authentication that is configured during deployment. If the OAuth secret you've provided expires, then users will be blocked from signing in. See this article for information about updating OAuth secrets Update Salem OAuth Secrets
Known issues
In some cases Salem cards in Microsoft Teams become unresponsive, displaying a message saying you can't reach the bot. This is often due to Teams state tracking being corrupted for a single message. In these cases, returning to the menu and reentering the workflow your in is the easiest work around. You can also try to add an emoji reaction to the card, which has been known to resent the view.
